Is he only looking for sex?

I met this guy new years at a club which turned into a 1 night stand. Except a couple weeks after we found each other online and started talking slowly/casually. He's commented on my photos saying im beautiful.. and giving me compliments after a week of talking online. He is away from town for work, And he asked me for my number (which i took as a good sign) We've been talking every couple of days.. just asking how each others days are going.. whats new. Obviously we don't want to get to know each other via text msg because that's not proper. But he recently text me asking if i was up for doing anything when hes back in town. (I was confused on if he meant "sex" or hanging out) .. I wanted to be clear saying i'm up for actually "meeting" you since i was extremely drunk when we met. He replied weirdly as if he meant sex.. or at least i think. he said haha... yea you were wasted, but i was too. I would think that if he was interested he would say great what should we do? .. or something more positive. we continued our convo.. and we've talked since then except i started the convos after that. We haven't spoken for over 4 days because i decided its his turn to text me. .. Am i taking this to fast? .. I've recently fought with a close girl friend so i have lots of time on my hands (Spare time to think about him) and i need an opinion. Am i being over all clingy in the head since after all we don't "know" each other, or is he looking for sex?
