Friends dont approve of him, but my family does? Who should I go with?

My friends all apporove of my boyfriend of three months. Some say he likes this other girl Avery better and i was just a second choice. At least half of them want me to end it because he has a history of cheating and just because he hasnt so far doesnt mean he wont. Also they keep telling me i could do better and he is too ugly for me. BUT my brother, sisters, and mom like him. Me and him are really close because he lives in my neighborhood and we've been friends for years before this. To me he's perfect, but are my friends telling the truth? Should i just end it with him so i dont end up with a broken heart?
